(HUANG Su LIANG Yuming DAI Chan) Under the proposal of Congsi Literary Society, the guidance of the University CPC Committee and the organization of the School of Humanities and Education, the Communist Youth League and the Alumni Association, the first “GZIST Alumni Cup” Composition Contest attracted alumni, retired faculty and staff and another two hundred current members of the community.
On June 2, Executive Vice President Fu Huanchang, Deputy Secretary of the University CPC Committee and Vice President Xiao Hai attended the ceremony and handed the awards to the winners, including trophy cups, ipads, headphones, book purchase discount cards, Chinese and foreign classics, all sponsored by alumni.
In his address, Fu Huanchang called on the University community to value our alumni achievements, deepen our love of the University and the country, enhance the splendid Chinese culture, put our University Motto into practice and join hands in our path to high quality development by hard work, reading and study, reflecting and writing.
This year marks the 20th anniversary of the University Congsi Literary Society, whose members include outstanding alumni Zheng Lian, Zhang Wenshu, Zhong Hanqing, Wu Lunjing, Zhang Guozhen. They work in different sectors, make contributions to our society and bring honor to our alma mater. The contest was initiated by the first Congsi Literary Society president Zheng Lian and past presidents Zhang Wenshu and Zhang Guozhen, who proposed that it should become a yearly event, timely endorsed by the University.
Literature and art are pivotal components of our campus life. Those who joined the Literary Society have learned from each other, helped one another, and become life-long friends.
