(From Zhu Zhihong in St. Petersburg Russia) On December 9, 2023, GZIST 20 outstanding students from various schools and majors, led by Ms. Zhu Zhihong from the School of Foreign Languages and Dr. Zhou Tianhe, started their study trip to St. Petersburg, Russia.

The training program lasts for two weeks, and our students will study engineering, big data, machine translation, economic management and other courses at Baltic State Technical University (BSTU), which is one of our partner institutions. As a university directly under the Ministry of Science and Education of the Russian Federation, BSTU is one of the key universities in Russia, and also the second higher education institution among all Russian universities that has obtained a state-level license.

All courses are taught by experienced professors with authoritative qualifications in BSTU. Our students studied attentively and actively interacted with the Russian professors, benefiting a lot from the program. In addition, the study trip arranged excursions, including visiting St. Isaac's Cathedral and the Hermitage Museum, from which students had a deeper understanding of the history and culture of Russia. Through making local friends, students also improved their cross-cultural ability and promoted the educational and cultural exchanges between China and Russia.

GZIST School of International Education has been committed to creating opportunities for our students to carry out cross-cultural communication and promote the establishment of friendly cooperative relations between GZIST and international universities. Starting with the study trip to Russia as the first training program abroad, there will be more training programs for GZIST students to expand their horizons and increase their specialized knowledge.
