(From Xie Jinlong in Singapore) From January 21 to 28, 2024, 29 GZIST outstanding students led by faculty member Xie Jinlong embarked on a tailor-made study trip to Singapore for a 1-week program at NTU, which comprised intercultural communication, innovation and entrepreneurship, geared to the students’ academic and professional development.
The students participated in a series of courses with international characteristics, and attended lectures provided by renowned entrepreneurs and scholars. The students also communicated with them face-to-face, and learned from their successful experiences and innovative ideas. These courses provided valuable opportunities for them to share their ideas and to think about how to integrate innovation and entrepreneurship into their academic study and professional careers.
In addition, the students also visited the internationally renowned Jurong Hi-Tech Industrial Park and Red Dot Design Museum to experience Singapore's outstanding achievements in science and technology innovation, learned about their latest developments and cutting-edge technologies in the industry, and gained a clearer understanding of the mode of operation and market trends in the technology industry.
At last, the 29 students conducted a final report on the theme of innovation and entrepreneurship business plan. Combining their study and fieldwork experiences in Singapore, they produced creative and feasible business plans, presenting their research results in aspects including innovative technologies, market analysis and business models. The supervisors spoke highly of our students’ business plans which demonstrated their potential and talent in innovation and entrepreneurship, and commended them for their strong practical ability.
GZIST attaches great importance to this study tour and hopes that such activities can provide our students with an opportunity to broaden their international horizons, and cultivate their innovative spirit and practical skills. We believe that this program at NTU will bring valuable experience to the students, motivate them to plan for their academic and entrepreneurial paths in the future.
