(Cai Jianling) On April 15, Softech, a professional evaluation organization for higher education, officially released “2025 Softech China University Ranking”. According to the latest list, GZIST was ranked 48th in China's private university rankings, among top 50 in the category.
Since its first release in 2015, “Softech China University Ranking”, formerly known as “Softech China Best Universities Ranking”, has won wide attention and recognition inside and outside the field of higher education for its professionalism, objectivity and transparency, and has become a ranking of Chinese universities with important social influence and authoritative reference value. It has become a leading brand of Chinese university ranking with significant social influence and authoritative reference value. The ranking is oriented to serve the development and progress of higher education in China, adhering to the guidelines and policies of national higher education reform and education evaluation, assessing Chinese universities by Chinese standards.
The evaluation system of “Softech China University Ranking” has ten evaluation modules, subdivided into 37 evaluation dimensions, embedded with 104 evaluation indexes and involving 392 evaluation variables, which is a three-dimensional monitoring evaluation of the running level of Chinese universities.
In recent years, the University has closely followed the top priority of “manufacturing industry” of Guangdong Province, focusing on six cutting-edge professional clusters: intelligent manufacturing and robotics, artificial intelligence and computer technology, new-generation electronic information technology, low-altitude economy and new energy industry, digital economy and cultural creativity, network media and aesthetic education, and adhering to the application of the first talent cultivation model (experiment-training-internship-combat), through in-depth university-enterprise cooperation and industry-teaching integration. We strengthen our students' digital literacy, practical ability, and innovative and entrepreneurial awareness, and deliver high-quality applied talents who can “go down to the grassroots, be useful, and stay at the grassroots” for the real economy and advanced manufacturing industry in the Bay Area.
In terms of academic and scientific research breakthroughs, the University was selected as one of the first private colleges and universities in Guangdong Province to enroll joint master's degree students in 2022 (only 3 private colleges and universities in the province). In terms of academic and professional construction, the University has 47 undergraduate majors, including 1 national first-class undergraduate major, 2 key disciplines of Guangdong Province, 3 first-class undergraduate majors of Guangdong Province, and 4 Guangdong featured majors. In terms of teaching reform and innovation, we have deepened the integration of industry and education, strengthened practical teaching, built 1 provincial-level industrial college and 14 university-level industrial colleges, 11 innovative experimental classes through the enterprise workshops, and constructed a three-dimensional practice system of “134 studios + 302 bases + 171 laboratories”. The University has joined hands with KDDI, a leading artificial intelligence enterprise, and NetEase Youdao, a leading Internet education technology enterprise, to establish an industrial college, which empowers the cultivation of digital talents with a new mode of collaborative education between our institution and enterprises, and creates a new high ground for the cultivation of applied talents for Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao Greater Bay Area.
