On the evening of September 21, GZIST held a concert in Huizhou New Campus welcoming the Class of 2023. President Hu Shejun, CPC Committee Secretary Huang Shengcheng, Deputy Secretary and Vice President Xiao Hai, Vice President Zhang Zhihong attended it with faculty and students from all the schools.
First, Secretary Huang Shengcheng delivered a message of welcome, introduced the University to the freshmen and called on them all to make full use of their four years for their whole person development.
The concert started by Guzheng performance, a Chinese traditional musical instrument, followed by a group dance, all by students from the School of Music and Dance. Four teachers from the School, Cheng Xingwen, Huang Yaqian, Hu Huijie, and Qin Shihan sang deep and loud Happy China Walks Us Forward. Another two teachers Zhu Haiming and Li Zilong played the tune of Mojito, against the backdrop of the romantic Cuba. More teachers joined in performing, Li Lidan, Liu Furui, Zhou Lingzhi, Zhao Nanying, who drove the audience into shouts and excitement. The climax came when the University Choir sang three popular songs, echoing in the brand new stadium. Everybody in the concert was moved and motivated for our pride of our country and our determination to accomplish the great revitalization of the Chinese nation.
